South Bucks Midweek Cycling Newsletter - March 2023

South Bucks Midweek Cycling Newsletter - March 2023

I write this with snowflakes falling past my window, so winter is not over yet, but the days are getting longer, the sunshine is stronger and blossom is starting to appear.

Booking for our Cotswold Holiday at the end of March is now closed with 24 taking part, so I am looking forward to that.  Incidentally, the RAU at Cirencester also has accommodation available in August/September so that could be another holiday opportunity if someone wants to organise it.

Before we go to the Cotswolds I have a DIY cycling week in the Algarve to look forward to, so I was interested to see that the Tour of the Algarve was on TV to get a preview of the scenery.  I was pleased to see that the Pros were wearing shorts and short sleeves in February so that has helped with clothing choices.  In the final Time Trial, Tom Pidcock used his off-road skills to avoid a crash when he took a corner a bit too fast!

Feel free to share pictures of your exploits on our Facebook page or send them to me for possible publication.

Thinking of joining a ride for the first time?  We have a helpful page on our website which should answer most of your questions, but if you want advice please get in contact.

If you spot any interesting articles, cafe changes or want to contribute your observations, please let me know.

Safe cycling,

Peter Robinson
